Event toolkit – Facilitation

Facilitation (for interactive events)

In order for the event to achieve an inspirational and empowering atmosphere, we suggest to use a moderator as a facilitator for the development of group dynamics. It is most important to let the group work.

Therefore, the moderation takes an active role in developing group dynamics. She/he introduces topics to the group, steers discussions, as well as addresses, reflects and frames what is happening.

The workshop sessions and communal gatherings are all designed to help the group develop a community spirit, learn from each other and benefit from each others ideas and solutions.

If competitors attend the event, the moderator should remind the participants that:

  1. No commercially sensitive information must be discussed/exchanged, neither during the sessions nor the social gatherings before, during or after the event
  2. Competitors must not align on any business strategies/decisions that go beyond the legitimate scope of the EEMA. Where the organizer envisages sensitive information to be discussed, a lawyer should be present
